EA had to convey its own forums down yesterday after they were hacked (just everything's Okeh now).

You may have noticed yesterday that Ea's forums went offline without any warning. This is because – as EA has discovered – the forums were hacked. That said, EA has seemingly managed to fix the issue, is being upfront well-nig what went down, and the forums are back online

According to EA UK biotic community manager Dan Sheridan:

As some of you noticed the home page of the forums was defaced past a drudge yesterday victimisation a really refreshing effort for the software package which runs the forums. This was noticed quickly and we took the action to take the forums offline while we investigated the inside information.

This work is today all-or-none and the exposure we believe was used has now been fixed.

There is no evidence that whatsoever personal data was compromised and as passwords aren't stored in a recoverable manner, we are confident they rest secure.

Stories about hackers hitting game developers and publishers make been increasingly commonplace over the past class, but Ea's unitary of the bigger companies to have been affected by an round like this. While the fact that the taxi was healthy to use a software package exploit to is no doubt embarrassing, EA is at any rate swallowing its pride and admitting what happened. From the sound of things, this could have been a lot worse.
